Description

The all-seeing intuition

The sixth chakra, Ajna, is in the area of the third eye, which is found in the space between the eyebrows, this is your centre of intuition. It encompasses the pituitary gland, eyes, head, and brain. A spiritual chakra, which means “beyond wisdom,” Ajna leads you to an inner knowledge that will guide you if you let it.

It’s this intuition and wholeness, which allows us to look at our physical body as a whole. Instead of limbs, organs and emotions we are able to see the link between each and every aspect of our physical selves and bring ourselves to oneness.

This is where an understanding of our true health can be found. No longer concerned by mere symptoms, our minds are able to process and see the body as a complete system. Reaching this place in our evolution of health means we are able to finally listen to what our bodies need and act accordingly.

As the gatekeeper of your spiritual potential, the third-eye chakra is connected to your ability to trust your intuition, and ability to integrate your mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical bodies to each other and to this world.

The "way of the third eye" is seeing everything as it is from a point of "witness" or "observer", or from simply being mindful - moment by moment.

It means examining self-limiting ideas and developing wisdom that comes from a perspective that transcends the duality of good or bad, black or white. It means seeing and helping others to see the deeper meanings of the situations in their lives.

The Persona

Those with an open and balanced third-eye chakra often have a crystal clear vision for their life; they possess a vivid imagination, and are easily able to grasp the bigger picture in any given situation. They have strong communication skills, easily remember their dreams, and are often thought of as wise individuals.

An out-of-balance third-eye chakra can lead to a foggy, tired, and indecisive state of mind. You may feel disoriented and disconnected from everything going on around you and describe yourself as feeling ‘numb’. Your tendencies may be to procrastinate, forget, struggle to concentrate, and feel fearful more often than not. It’s probably difficult for you to find focus regarding your life path and you may lack a clear vision for your life. On the other hand, if you have too much energy here, it’s likely that your mind is constantly in overdrive.

Foods

  • Purple foods: blackberry, red cabbage, grape, radicchio, balsamic vinegar, fig and olives.

  • Brain stimulating foods: matcha, cacao and coffee.

  • Calming foods to the mind: chamomile, lavender and lemon verbena.

  • Avoidance of stimulating foods such as caffeine and refined sugars

  • Balancing Activity

  • Cultivate a vision

Balancing Activity

Todays task is to spend some time in visualisation. Imagine a goal you would like to achieve and then I want you to find a comfortable place to sit and then begin to visualise what it would feel like to wake up in your body once you have reached that goal. Walk around in your life as if you are living the life you imagine with your successes and dreams realised.

Affirmation

‘I am connected to and honour my intuition always.’
